Pacesetters traditionally begin their portion by contributing to the campaign months prior to the actual beginning of the annual campaign which runs from September through November.Pacesetters are determined to do their part to help raise the 2013 "United To Make A Difference" Campaign goal of $1,002,013 in hopes of having yet another rewarding year. Last year, the Schuylkill United Way had 384 Pacesetters who collectively gave $334,325 to the campaign. According to Co-Chairmen of the Pacesetters Club, Joseph Jones, Jr. and Robert Weaver, there are currently 261 Pacesetters who have already pledged $236,622 to campaign. The John E. Morgan Foundation has once again included a $50,000 Matching Pacesetters Grant as an added incentive for current Pacesetters to increase their level of giving and to encourage new members to join. This means if a member increases their donation over last year's pledge, the increase is matched or if you are becoming a member of the Pacesetters Club this year, this means that the donation will be matched 100 percent. The Pacesetters Reception was sponsored and held at the Wegmans Regional Distribution Center on Tuesday Oct. 16. With an attendance of nearly 200 guests, Wegmans provided the food for the reception and tours to their facility. Floral arrangements were donated by Grassa Florist, Sheila's Floral Gallery, and Forget Me Not Florist and were given away as door prizes as an extra "thank you" to the guests.
