State Police at Fogelsville have charged a Lehighton man with allegedly attempting to steal $327.97 worth of merchandise from a Lehigh County department store.

Carmen Diacheysn, 43, has been charged with retail theft.Diacheysn was apprehended in Kohl's Department Store, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, prior to exiting, police said.
