Coaldale man waives hearing on sexual assault charges

A Coaldale man who allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl waived his preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Lester Allen Reeser Jr., 22, of East Ruddle Street, is currently lodged in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000, 10 percent bail.He has been charged with indecent sexual assault on a person less than 16 years of age, aggravated indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.The hearing had been scheduled before District Judge Edward Lewis of Jim Thorpe.The charges stem from an incident in Lehighton on Sept. 8. The arresting officer if patrolman Scott S. Prebosnyak of the Lehighton Police Department.Prebosnyak writes in the affidavit that he was summoned to a Lehighton address on Sept. 18 for the complaint of a missing child. Upon speaking to the mother of the child, it was learned that the youngster had sexual relations with Reeser.The child was then interviewed and confirmed that sexual relations had occurred with Reeser on Sept. 8, says the affidavit.Reeser was also interviewed, the affidavit says.It adds that Reeser lied multiple times about the incident but eventually admitted to having sexual intercourse" with the child.
