Hazleton driver cited in McAdoo

A Hazleton man was cited by McAdoo police after he was observed running a red light in the borough on Sept. 26.

Patrolman Steven Homanko was on patrol at 10:59 p.m. when he saw a red Pontiac fail to stop for a steady red signal at the intersection of Kennedy Drive and Blaine Street. The officer stopped the Pontiac and spoke to the driver, identified as John Blashock IV, 40, of 1335 S. Church St.Blashock appeared to be intoxicated and was given and failed several field sobriety tests. A portable breath test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .130 percent, more than the legal limit of .08.A routine records check discovered that Blashock's operator's license had been suspended for a DUI related offense.He was cited for DUI, driving with a revoked/suspended license, and failure to stop for a red light.
