DUI arrests reported

Several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests were reported by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said on Oct. 7 about 9:30 p.m. a suspicious vehicle was observed in a driveway at 260 Betty Lane, in Kunkletown, Monroe County. A female was observed asleep in the vehicle with the keys in the ignition. She was identified as Trisha Moore, 36, of Kunkletown.She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, troopers said, and charges were filed.On Oct. 11 about 11 p.m. troopers David Anthony Jr., 24, of Kunkletown, was parked along Deer Lane at Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, blocking traffic. He was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers added.On Friday, Oct. 12, about 1:19 a.m. troopers stopped Charles R. Mackes, 24, of Saylorsburg, along Golf Course Road, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a motor vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.Also on Friday, about 11:35 a.m., troopers stopped Robert Matthew Ruzicka, 21, of Lehighton, along SR248 at SR209 in Franklin Township, for several moving violations. He was found under the influence of a controlled substance, troopers allege. Troopers also said they found drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending.On Saturday, Oct. 13, about 3:15 a.m. troopers found a vehicle parked along Anchorage Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. The engine was running and the driver was observed asleep behind the wheel.The driver was identified as Wayne Leibenguth, 48, of Saylorsburg. He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken for a blood test at the Monroe County DUI Center. Charges are pending the test results.
