Case continued for woman accused of stabbing boyfriend to death

An Allentown woman accused of allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death has had her case continued.

Carolina Feliz, 36, of 25 S. Ninth St., was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before District Judge Ronald Manescu of Allentown on Tuesday.Instead, the case has been continued until 10 a.m. Nov. 14 in Lehigh County Central Court. Feliz remains in Lehigh County Prison, where she was committed without bail.Feliz allegedly killed Desiderio Morales, 52, of Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, the morning of Oct. 10, while getting ready for work, in her Allentown apartment.According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Stephen Milkovits, a police officer for the City of Allentown, currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, and Detective Timothy Salgado, of the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force:At about 6:57 a.m. Oct. 10, patrol officers and paramedics from the City of Allentown responded to 25 South 9th St., 2nd floor apartment, for report of a female bleeding, according to the affidavit.Upon arrival, the patrol officers located the victim, identified as Morales, lying on the floor of the bedroom of the second floor apartment, suffering from an apparent stab wound, the affidavit says.Morales was transported by EMS to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by emergency room doctors at 7:38 a.m.At about 11 a.m., an autopsy was performed on Morales, and it was determined that he died of a stab wound to the neck. The death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.At about 9:08 a.m., Feliz was interviewed by Milkovits and Salgado at Allentown Police Headquarters. During the Mirandized interview, Feliz stated that she was consuming alcoholic beverages the night before with her mother, and anticipated having a problem with her boyfriend, Morales, who was sleeping over at her apartment that night, so she placed a small knife under her pillow.Feliz stated that while getting ready for work, an argument started, and during the course of the argument, she stabbed Morales once in the neck with the knife that she had placed under her pillow the night before.
