An Oley, Berks County, man, who is formerly of Tamaqua, was picked up on an outstanding warrant on Oct. 3.

Tamaqua Police Chief Dave Mattson was off duty at 3:30 p.m. when he observed suspicious activity in the area of 18 S. Railroad St. Mattson stopped the suspect and identified him as Leonard Defuso, 41. A routine records check indicated Defuso was wanted on a fugitive warrant issued by York police after he failed to appear on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and hit-and-run.On duty officers took Defuso into custody and transported him to the Schuylkill County prison, Pottsville.
