Dismiss charges

District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon filed motions to court to dismiss charges against two defendants because the victims no longer wished to prosecute and President Judge William E. Baldwin granted the motions.Charges were dismissed against John Parry, 19, Pottsville, of simple assault and harassment in a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend, Cathy Callis, and his mother, Sara Parker. Both notified the DA they did not wish prosecute because the defendant is now receiving medication and will be attending anger management classes.Charges of terroristic threats and harassment against Jeremy R. Dean, 37, Port Carbon, were dismissed because the victim, Kathleen Ammon, Port Carbon, did not wish to prosecute.Pleads guiltyKevin Michael Hook, 28, Cressona, pleaded guilty to theft of property from the Hexel Corporation, located in the Saint Clair Industrial Park, and was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to placement in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for 23 months, with three months under house arrest with electronic monitoring to be set up by Lehigh County Adult Probation Department and to serve the balance of his probation sentence under supervision by Lehigh County.The court noted if he is not accepted in the IPP in Lehigh County he will report to the Schuylkill County Prison to serve a sentence of three to 23 months with the effective date of Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. He also must pay a fine of $100, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, and make restitution of $18,557 to Hexel Corporation.
