Excitement prevailed at the Lehigh Valley Railroad station in Mauch Chunk for a time when a Carbon Transit Car ran away on the hill leading to the Lehigh Valley Bridge. The car jumped the track at the curve and proceeded down the roadway. Its flight was stopped when it bumped against a concrete retaining wall. None of the five passengers were injured, but they suffered slightly from the shock. Motorman Al Yenser was in charge of the car. A broken brake permitted the car to run away.
