Ecumenical Bible study

The Ecumenical Bible study group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Room of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. This season the group, under the direction of Mrs. Joan DeAcetis, will be studying the book of Acts. All women of the community are invited to attend. The group meets twice a month.Post-reunion meetingThe committee that planned the recent reunion of Jim Thorpe High School, will hold a post reunion meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Beacon Diner (back room), Lehighton.BloodmobileThe American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 1-6 p.m. Donors must be 17 years of age and older.Dinner postponedThe celebration worship service and dinner of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 14, has been postponed. The organ builder has encountered some challenges in rebuilding the organ. The council of the church will be advising the congregation of the new date and time when the organ work has been completed.Renewal of confirmation vowsThe confirmation class of 1955 St. John's Lutheran Church, Heights, renewed their confirmation vows recently. Members of the class in attendance were Gary Hiller, Rochester, N.Y.; Douglas Stermer, Port St. Lucie, Fla; Alica Knauss Collier, York and Jacqueline Windbeck Petch, Lehighton. Members unable to attend included Brent Rohlfing, Kenneth Ackerman, Kay Swartz Boyle, Carole Walker Pompa and deceased member was David Hittner.
