Old Fashioned Hay Ride and Fall Fest planned for end of October

Old Fashioned Hay Ride and Fall Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27; and Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Weissport Park and Lehigh Canal Park at Weissport.

The event will include tractor drawn hayrides along the historic canal, tractor show, crafters, pumpkin patch, homemade food and children's activities, including make your own scare crow. This event is catering to seniors, elderly individuals and people with disabilities. Families of all ages are invited to attend. Hay rides will be held every 20 minutes, from 11 a.m. throughout the day.The hay ride will give everyone the opportunity to see the historic Lehigh Canal Park at Weissport during the height of the fall foliage experience.Everyone will see blazing foliage reflected in the Lehigh Canal on one side of the trail and view the glorious Lehigh River on the other side of the trail.There will be a variety of children's activities, including a "train ride" in the park for little ones, a bounce house, and children's tractor pedal pull (Saturday only), sponsored by Pocono Old Tyme Plow Boys, with homemade food served with table service to especially accommodate seniors and people with disabilities.Reservations are encouraged for groups of 10 or more people.
