Northern Lehigh's Halloween Parade is a go for Oct. 27

Much to the relief of its supporters, Northern Lehigh's fabled Halloween Parade will continue to march on.

Laura Stauffer, committee chair for the Northern Lehigh Events Committee Inc., told the TIMES NEWS on Thursday the 105th annual parade, set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, is a go."We are having the parade," Stauffer said. "We do have enough volunteers, though more are always welcome."Stauffer said the decision was reached on the heels of a volunteer meeting held Wednesday at the Miracolo Bella Hair & Wellness Spa in Walnutport."It's because we have enough volunteers," she said. "Either we had enough, or we didn't."Earlier this month, Stauffer said there was a "strong chance" the parade could be canceled due to what she referred to at that time as a lack of community involvement. The parade starts in Slatington, goes down Main Street, and then goes through Walnutport, where it ends at the Walnutport Playground on Lincoln Avenue.Anyone who wishes to volunteer, or for more information on the parade, is encouraged to call (484) 265-1028, or visit nlhalloweenparade.com.
