September 12, 1969 Panther Valley's defense comes up big in posting a 7-0 victory over Palmerton. In the second quarter, Mike Flyzik intercepts a pass and returns it 66 yards for the only score of the game. The Bombers put together a late drive and move to PV's four-yard line, but a sack and forced fumble by Andy Pero with 12 seconds to play seals the win for the Panthers (coached by Jim Steber). Palmerton's Bill Konek is the top offensive player of the contest, rushing for 87 yards.
