The Women's Ecumenical Bible study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 in the Good Shepherd Room of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue in Jim Thorpe.

All women of the community are invited to attend. This year the group will be studying the book of Acts, under the direction of Mrs. Joan DeAcetis.Local author appears at Dimmick Friends event on SaturdayOn Saturday, Sept. 15 from 1-4 p.m., local author Michelle Gallagher will be doing a meet and greet at the Dimmick Friends Book Sale at 58 Broadway, Jim Thorpe. Gallagher will be talking about and signing copies of her recent book "Witch Wolf? The Curse," the story of a young teenage girl who is harassed because of her looks. She finds she is turning into a werewolf, due to a past curse put on her father.Michelle uses some of her own memories of being bullied when she was a young teenager due to her then unattractive appearance.
