ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS A driver of a Volkswagon sedan was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon after colliding with a tractor trailer traveling south on Interstate 81 between exits 131A and 131B, Hometown/Mahanoy City exits, in Ryan Township. The incident occurred in a construction zone on the southbound lane and also involved a tractor trailer carrying hay. Interstate traffic was backed up during the response. State Police, firefighters and emergency responders from Delano, Quakake, McAdoo, Mahanoy City and Ryan Township responded. No more information was available as of press time. The driver of this car was taken to the hospital following the crash.
