Preschool Story Hour at the Palmerton Area Library will resume at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7. This is free and open to the public, and will continue throughout the school year.Community mealFrom 5-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, a free community meal will be served at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton. The public is welcome to enjoy a free meal and fellowship.VFWAt 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, Palmerton Memorial VFW Post 7134 will hold its monthly meeting at the Palmerton VFW, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. Current active VFW members, veterans and active duty personnel from all service branches are invited to attend.New members are welcome.Palmer PTOAt 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, the Palmer PTO will meet in the cafeteria of S.S. Palmer Elementary School.Historical societyThe Palmerton Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m.., Monday, Sept. 10, in the gallery of the Palmerton Area Library. A brief business meeting will be held followed by the program. The audience will participate in a challenging government quiz.
