Rain doesn't stop the rock during Zoostock

Despite a full day of rain, hundreds of visitors and spectators came out to enjoy the music and festivities during the Zoo Crew's 14th annual Zoostock held Labor Day at the Sports Zoo/Halftime Sports Bar in Lansford.

"The rain didn't stop them from coming," said organizers Ann Marie Calabrese, Jesse Hiles and Lisa Hiles.The event, which consisted of food, beverages, entertainment, souvenir T-shirts, face painting, children's activities and more, was one of many yearlong fundraisers held by Sports Zoo owners and staff in support of the American Cancer Society.Volunteering their services were entertainers Jay Smar, Cody Sassaman, Colin Jones, Brad and Luke and the Jersey Cartwrights, The Brand,

A.D.D., Toolshed Jack and Category 5.Calabrese of Coolbreeze Imaging and host of "Stuck in the '80s" on Magic 105.5 WMGH served as emcee.Prior to the event, visitors were able to take part in the Zoostock Annual Kick Off Party as well as enjoy a "meet and greet" event at the bar, in which visitors could meet professional wrestler Gene Snisky, WXWC4 Champion and former WWE Superstar, prior to the Zoostock WXWC4 Wrestling Benefit Show, also held over the weekend.Last year's combined Zoo Crew events total enabled the crew to present the ACS with $22,000 during the annual telethon.For more information, to make a monetary donation or volunteer, call (570) 668-6450.
