A total of 17 men and one woman have been charged with disorderly conduct by the Lehighton Police. The charges resulted from a street fight between about 40 local residents and 10 carnival workers early Saturday morning on South First Street, Lehighton. The charges were to be issued today, according to District Magistrate Harry Heydt, Jim Thorpe. More arrests will be made, police said. The melee between the area men and the workers resulted in injury to two persons.
