Plenty of free entertainment at the West End Fair in Gilbert

The West End Fair in Gilbert always gets the most popular local bands to provide free entertainment.

Yesterday, country singer Nicole Donatone, star of the Penn's Peak Radio programs "Tunes N Trivia" and "Round-Up," performed.Tonight, the Cramer Brothers, who are West End residents, will be on the main stage at 6, 7:30, and 9 p.m.Also this evening, the Pleasant Valley High School band will do a preview concert at 5:30 p.m. in the band shell.Tomorrow night, the veteran band Twitty Fever will entertain at 5:30, 7:30, and 9 p.m.Also tomorrow, Len & The Sidekicks Band will be featured on the main stage at noon, 2, and 3:30 p.m.Joe Nagele will have shows at the band shell at 1, 3, and 6:30 p.m.Donatone sang both cover tunes and songs from a CD, "If You Knew," that she recorded in Nashville.Cover songs included "I Feel Lucky" by Mary Chapin Carpenter, "Blue" by Leann Rimes, "Soldier Boy" by the Shirelles, and "All I Want To Do" by Sugarland.At one point she stepped off the stage and danced with some fans who attended the show.Also participating in her show on vocals was keyboard player Josiah Krawiec, who joined her in singing "I Told You So," a duet originally done by Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood, and soloed several selections.
