Carbon County Planning Commission voted on five land development projects in the county.

During the planning commission's monthly meeting on Wednesday, the board acted on the following items:• Anna Stemetzki (Linda Watkins) received conditional plan rejection for her proposed subdivision at 158 W. Ridge St., Nesquehoning. The plans called for combining two lots to create a .092-acre lot. Before approval could made, zoning variances must be obtained because the new lot does not meet minimum lot width and minimum yard setback.• Doris A. Goodhile/ Arnold R. and Bonita J. Loch received conditional plan rejection for a proposed subdivision/lot line revision at 1115/1131 E. Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township. The plan called for two lots a .603-acre lot owned by Brandon and Sarena J. Gray and a .320-acre lot owned by the Lochs. The Gray's lot would be subdivided into two lots and then one of the lots would be combined with the Loch's property to create a .424-acre lot. Before approval could be given, the owners must resolve the following items: all lots do not meet the minimum lot width, area and setback requirements so zoning variances must be obtained; the name of the record owner and developer of the property is incorrect. Goodhile transferred ownership of the property to the Grays on July 18, 2012, but is not represented in the plans; a maintenance/ownership agreement should be completed; and owner certification not completed.• John Ralph received plan approval for a subdivision at 13 Caedman Drive, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for combining two lots to create a .918-acre lot.• Wayne and Sally Fetterman received plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 836 Stony Mountain Road, Penn Forest Township. Plans call for combining two lots to create a .918-acre lot.• Richard W. and Lola A. Fedor received plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 1277 Cherry Hill Road, Parryville. The plans call for subdividing a 3.03-acre lot into a 2.5 and .53-acre lots. The .53-acre lot would then be combined with the Fedor's 171.48-acre lot to create a 172.01-acre lot.In other matters, the commission set the tentative date for the public hearing concerning the proposed Carbon County Comprehensive Plan and Carbon County Greenway Plan.The hearing, which is open for public comment of the plan, has been set for Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m., at the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency, Nesquehoning.The plans, which will be used for grant purposes; as well as to help coordinate projects, are being compiled using data from the municipal levels and from conservation and recreation organizations.Plans include existing land uses and zoning; natural resources; recreation, park and open spaces; transportation; economic development; goals; and putting the plan into action.Charlie Schmehl, vice president of Urban Research and Development Corp. of Bethlehem, is working with the county planning staff to create the plans. The project is funded mainly through state grants.The comprehensive plan overviews existing and future land use in the county.The greenway plan emphasizes the county's natural features and recreation corridors.
