The Nesquehoning Crime Watch group hosted the Community Watch of Jim Thorpe at their monthly meeting with guests Jim Thorpe Mayor Michael Sofranko (right) and coordinator Jamie Solomon (left) of Jim Thorpe in attendance along with Nesquehoning Mayor Tony Walck. Mayor Sofranko spoke on the actions of the Jim Thorpe group and mentioned that 30-35 people attend their meetings. The group is comprised of over 100 Jim Thorpe residents. He said the curfew of youngsters in Jim Thorpe is 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends. Afterwards they toured the Nesquehoning police department with the mayor. Jim Thorpe meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at Memorial Hall starting at 7 p.m. and guests are always welcome. The next Nesquehoning meeting will feature another special guest speaker with the date to be announced.
