A motorcyclist was injured in a crash about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, along Beaurys Road, in Foster Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Brett Russel, 50, of Sunbury, Northumberland County, was operating a 2003 Honda southbound when the bike struck a pot hole while rounding a left-hand curve. This caused Russel to lose control of the bike. The bike skidded about 20 feet before Russel laid it on its side and skidded another 60 feet.Russel sustained a moderate injury, troopers said, and was flown by Lifeflight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Troopers noted he was wearing eye protection but was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear.
