The August meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the municipal building with Randolph Gormley, James Gormley, Earl Boettger, Shirley Becker and Health Enforcement Officer Joshua Esposito in attendance.Esposito reported making spot check inspections at Turkey Hill Minit Mart and Luigi's Pizzeria.He received and adjusted six complaints: two infestations, one broken sewer line, one mold growth, one rotten fruit and one possible staph infection.Four properties were deemed unfit for habitation and condemned for having no water.There were no cases of reportable diseases during July.The board meets the first Tuesday of each month, at 10 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.SWNCThe South Ward Neighborhood Committee will meet today, at 7 p.m., in the South Ward Community Center on Penn Street.
