Black Diamond Writers Network speaker to detail importance of dialect

Jessica Lech, a member of the Actors' Guild of Schuylkill County, will be guest speaker at the Black Diamond Writer's Network on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Lech will offer advice about how writers can correctly identify, capture, and write dialect that will impact their character's story.Lech studied theater arts at Wilkes University. She currently lives in Minersville with her fiance and daughter, where she performs with the Actors' Guild of Schuylkill County. Some of her favorite dialect roles have included Mary Bennet in "Pride and Prejudice," and as an urchin in the "Roar of the Greasepaint."The meeting will run from 10 a.m. to noon, and be followed by a brief critique session for those interested in sharing some of their work or a roundtable discussion.The meeting is free and open to the public.For more information about the Black Diamond Writers' Network, call Kathy Ruff at (570) 645-3059 or visit the Tamaqua Public Library website
