A Monroe County man was charged with assault following a domestic dispute.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 12:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, officers were called to 2448 Tacoma Drive, Blakeslee, for a domestic dispute.On scene officers observed signs of injury to Laureen Kiernan, 51, of that address.Police said Charles Kiernan, 52, left the residence prior to their arrival but at 3:23 p.m. he returned to the residence and was taken into custody.He was charged with simple assault and harassment.He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment.
