Drivers facing DUI charges

Three drivers are facing driving under the influence (DUI) charges in separate incidents.

State police at Lehighton said Charmain Lavin, 24, of Effort, was stopped about 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, along Serfoss Road at Long Mountain Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. Lavin was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.On Sunday, July 22, about 2:50 a.m. troopers observed Autumn Yapaola, 24, of Albrightsville, driving erratically along SR209, south of Gilbert Road, in Polk Township, and a traffic stop was made.She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then taken to the barracks for a breath teset. Charges are pending, troopers said.On Tuesday, July 24, about 2:46 a.m. troopers said Killeen T. Conaty, 21, of Stroudsburg, was driving along Mountain Wood Drive, in Ross Township, Monroe County, when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her vehicle left the road and struck an embankment. Conaty was found to be under the influence. Troopers said charges will be filed.
