On June 18, Tamaqua police made a vehicle stop of a black Volkswagen Jetta driven by Derek Krapf, 24, of MaryD.

Police stated that Krapf was pulled over because his driving privileges were suspended. His front passenger, Anthony Pascoe, was taken into custody for a warrant out of adult probation.While officers were taking Pascoe into custody Krapf drove off from the vehicle stop.Charges were filed against Krapf on July 20 for two counts of driving while suspended and fleeing and eluding police.Officer Matt Houser is the investigating officer.
