A New Jersey man is facing charges following a paintball shooting incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 1:19 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, along Five Mailbox Road.
Police responded to that location and met Kevin R. Mest, 25, of Pocono Lake, and Ashley Hill, 22, of Jim Thorpe. They were riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on private roads when Robert McBride, 22, of Long Valley, N.J., pulled his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado across the road in front of them and fired several shots from a semi-automatic paintball marker, striking the ATV several times. Neither Mest or Hill were hit by the paintballs. No injuries were reported.The paintball markers were seized from McBride at his residence.Police said charges of recklessly endangering, simple assault, criminal mischief, and other related offenses will be filed against McBride.
