A waste of money

Dear Editor:

This past week the guide rails were replaced on 903, from Jim Thorpe to the top of the mountain. What a waste of time, money and materials. I don't think there was even a dent in any of the old rails that were replaced. On a scale of one to 10 they were a nine. The new ones are definitely a 10, only because they're nice and shiny. During the replacement of the new rails the final two pulloffs were eliminated. These were handy for the fellow hunting or handy for the fellow hunting or if you had troubles, you could get your vehicles totally off the roadway. The safety factor alone should have been a good enough reason to keep the pull-offs.Instead of replacing the rails they should've finished resurfacing the road. That would've made a whole lot more sense! But then again common sense is NOT a common commodity - especially for PennDOT,Native Chunker, Pete Bott, Mauch Chunk
