"My art shows raw emotion found in the human face," said artist Ellen George, 18, recent graduation from Palmerton Area High School.

George's artwork is currently on display in the gallery of Stonehedge Gardens, 51 Dairy Road, in South Tamaqua.While a senior, George was voted "Most Creative Female of the Class of 2012. She stated that she has been interested in art her entire life and credits her parents, along with her art teacher, Mr. Debias, with providing support, nurturing environment and encouraging her creativity. George plans to continue her artistic pursuits when she attends the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she was awarded a arts scholarship.Her collection of artwork on display in the gallery highlight the human face and figure. One of which, called "Girl With One Eye", shows its genesis in her painting that depicts a redheaded girl with the single green eye, which was created while taking a dual enrollment class for high school and college credits, under the tutelage of art teacher Michael Reenock.
