Just over 10,000 PPL customers were without power following yesterday evening's heavy rain storm, which struck our area just before 9 p.m. last night.

Police and emergency responders throughout our area could be seen placing signs and hooking up generators to traffic lights.West Penn Township was one of the hardest areas hit last night, leaving over 1,300 homes without power for up to five hours. As of this morning, PPL's website reports just over 300 still without power.
