Daughter charged with biting mom

Pocono Mountain Regional Police have reported the arrest of Jessica Franks, 23, of Tobyhanna.

Police said she is facing charges of simple assault, harassment, and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from an incident that happened at 3 a.m. July 12 at 510 Belvidere Road, Pocono Farms East.Pollice said they were called there by Laura Franks, the mother of the defendant, who reported that during an argument she had with her daughter, the daughter had bit her. Police said they observed the bite mark and bruising of the arm.While police were at the scene, a vehicle drove by the residence in which Jessica Franks was a passenger. Upon condicting a traffic stop, police said they observed a strong odor of burned marijuana coming from the car. A subsequent search resulted in police uncovering heroin packaging and three syringes in a purse owned by Jessica Franks.She was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facillity, Snydersville, for a video arraignment.
