A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash that occurred about 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, along SR443 at Phaon's Road, in Wayne Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jacquelin Drake Stephenson, 35, of Enola, Cumberland County, was operating a 2008 Land Rover westbound and approaching the intersection when she attempted turned left onto Phaon's Road. Troopers said Gerald D. Lightcap, 42, of Schuylkill Haven, operating a 2004 Harley Davidson, attempted to pass the Land Rover on the left (eastbound lane), and struck it.Lilgthcap, who was not wearing a protective helmet, was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to the Reading Hospital. Stephenson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured.Damages were disabling to both vehicles and both had to be towed from the scene. The investigation into the crash is continuing, troopers added.
