Keystone Sr. BR playoffs will begin on Thursday

The 2012 Keystone Senior Babe Ruth playoffs will begin Thursday with several TIMES NEWS area teams in action.

The following TN area teams are in the American Division bracket.The No. 1 seeded Franklin Township Shockers have received a first round bye and will not compete until Saturday where they will be hosting the winner of the East Stroudsburg vs. Towamensing match-up. That game will take place tomorrow evening at East Stroudsburg.The sixth seeded Panther Valley Black Diamonds will face off against Hazleton tomorrow at Hazleton and McAdoo/Tresckow will play Pocono Mountain at Pocono Mountain tomorrow as well.The sole TN area team in the National Division is the Franklin Township Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are the top seed in the National bracket and will play the winner of the Lower Nazareth Township vs. Allen Township match-up. Wes Griffin, Carson Barron, Danet Agosti, Joe Minehan, and Caleb Sell all chipped in with a hit apiece.Adam Rex got the win on the hill for Tamaqua.For Jim Thorpe, Gavin Fickensher, Davier Calcano, and Chris Cordley each had a hit.With the win Tamaqua Blue improves to 2-0 in tournament play and will now face Towamensing on Thursday at 6 p.m.
