3rd Senior Citizens Expo Wednesday in Schuylkill

FRACKVILLE Senator David G. Argall (R-29) has announced two additions to his 3rd Annual Senior Citizens Expo on Wednesday, July 11 at the Schuylkill Mall.

Starting at 10 a.m., St. Luke's Hospital Miners campus' cardiologist Christopher Cutitta, DO, will provide information on St. Luke's Miners Heart and Vascular Center to expo attendees. Dr. Cutitta will be on-hand to discuss the latest treatments and technologies available at St. Luke's facility in Coaldale, including:· Emergency room cardiac care· In patient hospital cardiac care· Vascular ultrasound· Nuclear stress testing and stress testing of various types· Echocardiograms· EKGs· Holter monitors· Cardiac rehabilitationAt 10:30 a.m., the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office will put on their "Senior Crime Prevention University," which will inform senior citizens about the threat of fraud and scams targeting the elder community and how to avoid being victimized. The theme for the program is "AWARE, AVOID, ALERT." Community Liaison for the Office of Attorney General will share this important information to attendees.The Senior Citizens Expo will take place this Wednesday at the Schuylkill Mall, right off of Route 61 and Interstate 81, in Frackville from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. To date, Argall confirmed 42 exhibitors will be in attendance to provide up-to-date information on programs and services available to Pennsylvania's older residents.Vendors include various health and nursing care facilities, consumer protection agencies, including the Attorney General's office, state and county departments and offices, Independent Living Services, safety awareness organizations, Schuylkill Transportation System and other groups that help and assist the region's senior citizens. Free glaucoma and blood pressure screenings will also be available.
