Shot in mistake for a groundhog, Thomas Pudelka, 26, of Nesquehoning, is a patient at Palmerton Hospital where his condition is reported fair. He lost several teeth and received injuries to the jaw when the bullet passed through both sides of his face. The accidental shooting took place while he was hunting near Treichlers. The individual who shot Pudelka said he thought he saw a groundhog. The high-powered .22 calibre weapon was fired from slightly less than 300 feet away, said William Moyer, Lehigh County game protector.
