Man jailed in knife incident

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Saturday following a knife-pointing and threat incident. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 9:24 p.m. at 345 E. Colliery Ave., in Tower City.

Troopers said Nichole Koons, 28, of Tower City, approached the apartment door of Darryl Dorsey, 46, to check on him because she was told he was causing a disturbance. Once the victim was about two feet from the door Dorsey swung the door open and pointed a knife at Koons.Dorsey then yelled profanities at Koons and told her to leave. Dorsey was taken into custody at the scene and charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment.He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
