Area residents placed in Schuylkill probation program

Several area residents were among 32 who were approved by Schuylkill County District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be admitted in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program.

The program is for first time offenders in non-violent crimes.They were admitted into the program by Judge John E. Domalakes, who imposed certain conditions. If they successfully complete the program their record will be wiped clean. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:Tonia Girard, 26, of 220 Fisher Avenue, Coaldale, driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, assessed $500 to defray cost of program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Education Account (CJEA) fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. Girard was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Glenn Laninger, when stopped last Sept. 20 on Greenwood St.Elan Kyle Golden-Alexis, 25, of 88 Country Road, New Ringgold, DUI, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and license suspended 60 days. Golden-Alexis was cited by Orwigsburg Patrolman Brandon K. Bayer, last Jan. 27.Gerald Leonard Heffner, 49, of 21 E.
