Volunteer creates donation box

Carmen Caruso IV, 19, saw that donated items were being stolen from the Tamaqua LEO Club and Lions Club donation area at the Tamaqua Public Library.

Caruso decided to take initiative and create a more secure way to keep donated items, such as cell phones, ink cartridges and reading/sun glasses. He spent a week or so, and with help from family, created a wooden, lockable storage container to hold donations. He added that the box is separated into three different donation compartments. The Tamaqua LEO Club also made a $100 donation to the library.
