Two Lansford men among 12 entering guilty pleas in court

Two Lansford men were among 12 who entered pleas of guilty to criminal charges in the Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller.

Shawn Michael Murphy, 33, of 237 W. Abbott St., was sentenced to serve three to 12 months in a state correctional facility and a concurrent 12 months probation for retail theft from the Walmart Store in Hometown and for possession of a drug paraphernalia (pipe).Murphy also must pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund and $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund. He was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton, last Dec. 21.Kody James Strouse, 23, of 34 Center St., Lansford, was sentenced to serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison and fined $500 for driving under the influence (DUI). He must also pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, and perform 10 hours of community service.On a summary charge of failing to properly use multiple beam lighting on his vehicle he was fined $25 plus $50 costs.Strouse was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse, last Dec. 11.Others sentences included:Adrienne Lee O'Donnell, 30, Ashland, DUI, to serve 30 days in county prison beginning Saturday, June 30, followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), including 90 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee. She must also pay a fine of $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $200 to Catastrophe fund, complete safety school, his driver's license is suspended 18 months and when restored must install an ignition interlock on his vehicle for 12 months.On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $200; and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic fined $25 plus $100 in costs.O'Donnell was cited by Butler Township Patrolman Raymond Horan, on July 24, 2010.Jessica Gladys Burd, 36, Ashland, for theft of a purse and jewelry belonging to Cindy Fetterolf, Gordon, received credit for serving 31 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months. She must pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $1,999 to the victim.Burd was cited by Butler Township Chief Edward Tarantelli, last Dec. 15.Ricardo Cruz, 24, Pottsville, for defiant trespass on private property, was given credit for serving 125 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 90 days. He was fined $50, and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Cruz was cited by Pottsville Cp. Mark D. O'Toole, last Feb. 17.Benjamin Lee Neidlinger, 19, no address, for possession of drug paraphernalia, was placed on probation 12 months. The sentence is to begin when he completes a sentence of six to 12 months imposed by Judge Miller on Aug. 12, 2011, for parole violation.He had pleaded guilty to burglary of trailer homes in Sammi's Trailer Park in North Manheim Township and was sentenced on June 22, 2011, to serve two to 18 months in the county prison and after serving his minimum sentence was placed on probation which was revoked.He was cited by state police.Jason Eric Peiffer, 30, Pottsville, for six counts of unlawful use of another person's computer, two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count each of burglary and simple assault, was sentenced to serve 18 to 48 months in a state correctional facility with credit for 208 days served in the county prison. He must pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA fund and make restitution of $10,993.03 to Robert Burns.318 Washington St,, Pottsville.Peiffer was cited by Pottsville police last November.Todd Schaeffer, 44, Pine Grove, for burglary of neighbor's apartment, three counts each of terroristic threats and simple assault, one count of resisting arrest and two counts of disorderly conduct, was sentenced to serve 12 to 36 months in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 151 days in the county prison. He was fined $250 and must pay $50 to CJEA fund.Schaeffer was cited by Pine Grove Cpl. William Gelgot, last Jan. 21 at an apartment at 43 S. Tulpehocken St.Raymond Allen Steinmetz Jr., 41, Pottsville, for simple assault, must serve five to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 99 days. He must pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 25 hours of community service. He was granted permission to participate in the Vocational Rehabilitation Program at the prison.Steinmetz was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Mark D. O'Toole, last Aug. 2.Gregory Lewis Wabo, 41, Pottsville, for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance in Pottsville last August, was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 125 days. He must pay $200 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours of community service, and make restitution of $30 to Pottsville Police Drug Task Force and $226 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Wabo was cited by Sgt. John R. Morrow.James Andrew Johnson, 42, Ashland, for DUI, must serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison and fined $1,000. He must pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, and must obtain a mental health evaluation. On a charge of disorderly conduct he was fined $25.Johnson was cited by Ashland Sgt. Michael Aulenbach, last Sept. 24.Richard Michael Wargo, 38, Mahanoy City, for DUI, must serve 120 days to five years in the county prison with credit for serving 92 days. He was fined $1,500 and must pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, and perform 20 hours community service. On a charge of driving while suspended-DUI related, was given a concurrent sentence of 90 days in prison.Wargo was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R Welsh, on April 15, 2011.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
