A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 11:20 p.m. on Friday, June 8, along SR443 in Wayne Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jill Kelly, 26, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound when she glanced down at her cell phone. She lost control of the car and traveled onto the north berm.The right side of the car struck a wire fence with wooden posts. After traveling along the berm for about 70 feet while striking the fence, the Cobalt went down a slight embankment and impacted with a utility pole. The impact sheered the pole in half, troopers said.After impact with the pole the car spun 180-degrees counter-clockwise and came to rest over a creek facing south.Kelly was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of minor injuries. She was found to be under the influence and submitted to a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.
