A budget calling for a tax rate of 43 mills and a $5 per capita tax was adopted at a meeting of the Mauch Chunk Township School Board directors. The tax millage is a reduction of four mills from last year. Objections to items in the budget were received from the Mauch Chunk Township Taxpayers Association. Among the objections was paying over $2,444 for teachers and supervisors' annual salaries, to the use of a physical education supervisor.
