State police at Lehighton said troopers will be conducting roving DUI patrols and a sobriety checkpoint this coming weekend on various roads in Carbon and Monroe counties.

The operation is part of a state police strike force initiative to reduce the number of crashes, fatalities and injuries on state roads.The operation will be conducted June 8 through June 9.
