Jacinda Ruzicka was honored as Panther Valley High School's senior female scholar athlete during a recent banquet at Pine View Acres in Pottsville.

Schuylkill County schools have been holding the banquet since 1985, but this is the first year that Panther Valley was invited to the event.Ruzicka was a four-year member of the Panthers' volleyball team, serving as co-captain this past season. She also participated in softball and track at Panther Valley.In addition, Ruzicka was ranked No. 2 in her class. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Student Forum and Scholastic Scrimmage team.Ruzicka will attend Albright College . She is the daughter of George and Karen Ruzicka, and the grandaughter of Jack and Joanne Ruzicka of Lansford and Peter Wisler and the late Evelyn Wisler of Lehighton.
