Nineteen enter guilty pleas in Schuylkill court

Nineteen defendants entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.

John Walter Archibald, 24, Schuylkill Haven, simple assault and two counts of disorderly conduct, serve two to 23 months in the county prison, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, and make restitution of $12.50 to the victim, Harry Garland.The assault took place in the Downtown Tavern, Schuylkill Haven. He also shall enroll in Anger Management Classes. Archibald was cited by Patrolman William I. Horn, last August 21.Marlene Edna DeLauretis, 58, Pottsville, two counts of altering a license plate on a vehicle, was placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of driving while her operating privileges were suspended was fined $1,000 and on a charge of having no car insurance was fined $300 plus $100 in costs. She was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh, last Aug. 24.Benjamin Garrett Dutcavich, 22, Schuylkill Haven, criminal trespass on property of Luckenbill's Restaurant, Schuylkill Haven, after closing hours as an employee and theft of cash from the register, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to CJEA fund, and perform 40 hours of community service. Dutcavich was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner, last June12 and 14.Matthew Thomas Edmonds, 23, Pottsville, on a charge of harassment by a prisoner was given credit for serving 32 days in the county prison and released. He has to pay $50 to the CJEA fund and restitution of $150 to the injured inmates. Edmonds was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Renee R. Galle, last Jan. 13.Brandon Lee Erbe, 27, Pottsville, simple assault and disorderly conduct, sentenced to serve time served (27 days) to 12 months and immediately parole, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $141.99 to Walter Truscott, 309 W. Market St. On charges of criminal mischief and harassment was fined $200 plus $100 costs. Erbe was cited by Patrolman Brian W Kotzmoyer, last Sept. 3.Joel Roger Kirby, 50, Shenandoah, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment, and perform 10 hours community service. Kirby was cited by Shenandoah Patrolman Robert Senape, last June 2.James Kuczewski, 54, Mount Carmel, DUI, serve a 10 days in the county prison beginning Friday, June 1, at 1 p.m., followed by five months and 20 days on in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), including 130 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a 12 daily fee, also, fined $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, driver's license suspended 12 months, and install ignition interlock on car for one year to monitor if driver has consumed alcohol. On a charge of driving while license suspended fined $1,000. He was cited by Mahanoy City Officer Jonathan McHugh, last Aug. 5.Cody Lee Moyer, 25, Schuylkill Haven, corruption of minors and simple assault , sentenced to serve three to 35 months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and shall have no contact with the victim and stay 500 feet away from the victim's home. Moyer was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner.Andrew Michael Parker, 19, Dornsife, Northumberland County, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when stopped by Shenandoah Patrolman Michael O'Neill, on West Street last June 14, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 10 hours community service.Jamie Paul Robbins, 32, Pottsville, disorderly conduct, fined $200 and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Robbins was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian W. Kotzmoyer, last Aug. 30.William J. Sanchez, 24, Mahanoy City, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge of public drunkenness was fined $25 plus costs. Sanchez was cited by Mahanoy City Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, last June 14.Mark John Schriner Jr., 22, Shenandoah, DUI, serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, June 1, at 9 a.m., fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service, and license suspended 12 months. Schriner was cited West Mahanoy Township Patrolman Raymond Tonkinson III, on Aug. 10, 2010, on Brandonville Road. Schriner was previously in the ARD probation program but it was terminated.Richard A. Sillers, 35, Mahanoy Township, giving false report to State Trooper Mark Demko last June 19 was placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge of going through a red traffic light in Mahanoy City as charged by Cpl. Michael Dissinger, last June 18 was fined $25 plus $50 and on a charge of reckless driving fined $200 plus $50 costs.Roy Thomas Snowell, 57, Pottsville, on charges of DUI and driving while license suspended sentenced to serve 32 days to six months in the county prison beginning Saturday, June 23, at 9 a.m., fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, and perform 10 hours of community service.He also must pay a fine of $1,000 on driving while his license was suspension charge, a fine of $100 for driving with a suspended registration certificate and a $25 fine for failing to have a valid inspection certificate on his vehicle plus $150 costs. Snowell was cited by Trooper Thomas Hornung when stopped on SR61 in North Manheim Township on April 18, 2010.Edward William Sonnon, 26, Pottsville, forgery of check on account of Elizabeth Kodash, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $400 to the victim. Sonnon was cited by Pottsville Patrolman James P. Englert, last July 12.Stephen Francis Weiss, 51, Pottsville, criminal conspiracy to attempt to defraud a bank through an ATM machine, was placed on probation 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Weiss was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Grant F. Yoder, last Aug. 7.Neiko Lee Zalonka, 29, Schuylkill Haven, delivering of a controlled substance from his home, sentenced to serve 10 days to 23 months in the county prison and is eligible to participate in the work release program, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $100 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Brandon S. Moyer, 23, Pottsville, DUI, serve one to five years in a state correctional institution, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and $50 to Catastrophe fund. On a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $1,000. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser, last July 10.John Speer, 23, Schuylkill Haven, possession of a controlled substance, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $100 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
