Carbon County Majority Commissioners Wayne Nothstein, chairman, right; and Thomas J. Gerhard, vice chairman, second from left; recently supported two area organizations by donating the remaining balance of their campaign account to Carbon County Friends of Animals and Safe Kids. They presented two checks, each in the amount of $68.51 to representatives of the groups. The pair said that running a county not only entails tending to the normal county matters, but it also includes making sure children are safe when doing various activities, such as riding their bike or in a vehicle; and making sure the pet population is maintained until forever homes can be found.
