Two persons were injured, including a young male child, in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Jonestown said Terry E. Books, 62, of Newville, Cumberland County, was driving a 1999 Ford F350 truck southbound when the left front tire blew out causing him to lose control. The truck went onto the berm and struck an embankment and several trees before over-turning onto its roof.Books and passenger, Daxton C. Books, 2, same address, were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, by Ryan Township ambulance. Troopers said the driver was wearing a seat belt and the child was in a safety seat.
