Inmate charged with threats count

An inmate at the Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning has been charged with one count each of terroristic threats and harassment for an incident at the prison in which a corrections' officer is the victim.

Borough police report on May 11 about 8:25 p.m. Officer Carl Breiner was called to the prison for a report of a threat incident. Upon arriving he spoke to corrections officer Clayton Hunsicker. Hunsicker explained that a disturbance occurred in his block area and the decision was made to have the inmates re-enter their cells and close their door and trap doors to restore order. One inmate, identified as Keith Alan Johnson, 24, got angry at Hunsicker when he closed the trap door on his cell door. Hunsicker alleged that Johnson made a threat to him. Johnson then re-opened the trap door, Hunsicker said, which he then closed a second time.At this point Johnson made more threats including that he would kill Hunsicker and also threatened to harm the victim's family.Breiner interviewed Johnson, who denied making any threats, but did admit reopening the trap door after Hunsicker had closed it.The charges were filed with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford.
