Twenty-nine first time offenders placed in probation program

Twenty-nine first offenders, charged with non-violent criminal acts, were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine in Schuylkill County court.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:Joshua L. Garris, 25, of 1211 Bolich St., Andreas, West Penn Township, was assessed $350 to defray cost of the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justicen Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, and perform 10 hours of community service. Garris was cited by Orwigsburg Patrolman Brandon K. Bayer. for assaulting Elizabeth Bierniek, 122 Columbia St., Orwigsburg.William Roger Weand, 40, of 2011 Tyson St., New Ringgold, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, and enroll and successfullly complete anger management program. Weand was cited by Trooper Paul E. Hardnock last July 17 with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. The information filed to court states he pointed a gun at Joseph Padora, 114 Tyson St., New Ringgold.Thomas Carl Bielec, 50, Flint, Mich., placed for 24 months, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA fund, 20 hours community service, make restitution of $1,000 to Boy Scouts of America, and $3,500 to Boy Scouts Insurance. Bielec was cited by Cpl.
