Twin monuments of granite and anthracite coal, complete with bronze plaques and honoring two pioneer priests of Saint John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Monsignor Gabriel Martyak and Father Michael Morris, were solemnly dedicated this Memorial Day. The memorials flank the chapel entrance at the parish cemetery in Summit Hill and were unveiled during an outdoor Requiem Liturgy. Monsignor Maratyak and Father Morris served the parish for a combined total of 63 years.
